I know many of you out there are going to think this is satire, but the Onion is one of those news organizations that is on the cutting edge of the media and they are actively getting the inside story of what really goes on in the chambers of our government representatives. This is beyond the pale and is just another example of government overreaching their power. :)
Israel is the proud recipient of this year’s IOL’s Nicest Country Facing Genocide Award. It was a close race this year for the award between Iran and Israel. Israel won the award by only one vote. The voting results were 1 – 0 in favor of Israel.
Ok, so Palin’s a Nazi and Joe McGinniss is a a stalker, peeping tom, voyeur, blah, blah, blah, blah. The name calling is all fun and good, but what I really like is Matt Lauer’s reference to Fox News. It appears that the main stream media is finally just coming out and saying it. Fox News is a part the new conservative evil empire, Fox News is the propaganda arm of the right wing Nazi (National Socialists, hmmm odd) movement. Looks like Fox’s ratings are finally starting to get under their skin. I love it when a more conservative form of media gets a foothold into the main stream of society through the freedom of speech and a media market that is driven by the same demand that drives capitalism, namely supply and demand. Currently the market is demanding more conservative leaning voices so the supply is increasing to keep with the demand. Get over it Matt Lauer. If you want your ratings to get back up, have more conservative voices in your media outlet. Guess what though, it’s a free country, if you want to you can keep right on delivering your liberal, socialist drivel to an ever decreasing share of the viewing population, that is your prerogative.
Well here we are on the threshold of another Memorial Day and we begin to think of the memories of those who have gone before us into eternity, some are family members, some are friends, maybe neighbors or maybe even someone we may not have gotten along with. The fact remains they were a part of our lives long enough to create memories (whether good or bad), and memories have a way of sticking with us, the joys, the triumphs, the laughter, the tears, the pretty, the ugly, the good, and the bad; they all have their own place in the “Hall of Fame” located in our minds, otherwise known as memory. It all brings up the question; “What memories am I creating in the lives of those around me?” Are they memories that those close to me will cherish long after I am gone? Or am I living only for my happiness and only for what I can get out of life, not caring who or what I destroy, or hurt in the process. Whether I like it or not the footprints I leave in the sands of time linger long after I have ceased walking the pathway of life; let’s try our best to leave a path we would not be ashamed to see others follow, let’s leave a path strewn with the fragrant flowers of good memories so that those who come behind us can walk the pathway and be thankful that we were a part of the memories that linger.
This writer is extremely grateful for a special group of people that have blazed a trail that most of have never had walk, I am speaking of course of the men and women of the Armed Forces. My friends I could care less about your political leanings, whether they are to the right or to the left makes no difference; it makes no difference whether you are Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, Catholic, or even Mennonite for that matter, the fact remains we collectively as a country owe them a debt of extreme gratitude. You may agree with the reasons for the wars being fought, or you may stand diametrically opposed; you may stand opposed to war altogether, or you may see it as the only solution; you may hate or love the President, it’s your choice you’re an American. But my friends, one thing we cannot do is take it out on the men and women of our Armed Forces who without thought to their own safety are asked to put themselves in harm’s way as a way of life. They are asked to fight for you and I whether at home or abroad, whether they agree with the politics behind it or not, and they do it willingly my friends. So on this Memorial weekend lets be thankful for the freedoms we enjoy as a result of their bravery and courage and appreciate the sacrifices being made on behalf of this country. So as you gather with friends and family this weekend please remember to pray for those who don’t have that opportunity because they or a family member is serving our great country, and thank God that we still enjoy the freedoms that we so often take for granted. If you think that the freedoms you enjoy are trivial or really mean nothing I urge you to go to a cemetery where our brave “sons and daughters” have been laid to rest and see for yourself the high cost of the freedom you have had to give nothing to enjoy. And to those of you that think it’s okay for you to treat them with anything other than respect whether in their life or in their death, those that think that it’s okay to protest their funerals, let me say this “it was not okay, it is not okay, nor will it ever be okay”. And in closing to quote one of the great country singers, Merle Haggard; “when you’re runnin down this country hoss you’re walkin on the fightin side of me!” GOD BLESS THE USA!
This Editorial by Steve Mccann at Investor’s Business Daily is a brilliant exposition on Socialism, the natural tendencies of a population to gravitate towards Government provided assistance to living, the desire of an elite to control the masses, and how Capitalism is the only way that Socialism can succeed in any facet. The elite will do anything to gain control and power. Prior to the modern era the social structures of the time allowed the elite to control the masses (i.e. the Feudal System). In the modern era equality and the rights of the individual have become such an ingrained part of society that the elite cannot control the masses simply by the fact that they are the aristocrats and the elite. Now they require more subtle approach (i.e. Marxism, Socialism). They promise a level of subsistence that is acceptable to a majority. They promise equality and to take from the rich (the producers). The problem with this system is that the producers do not have the infinite amount of resources that a socialist system requires and the producers cannot carry the masses on their back forever. Capitalism creates the wealth and the producers that Socialism needs to carry out its programs. Once this resource has been tapped dry the system collapses. Every example of Socialism every carried out in the history of the world has succumbed to this death. There exists no method for Socialism’s success. This is because Socialism goes completely against the natural desires of man to be rewarded for their labor and the natural desire of man to be able to succeed to the level of wealth and social status that they are capable of with their God given abilities.
Rev. Jeremiah Wright wrote in a letter to Africa 6000 earlier this year “I am ‘radioactive,’ Sir. When Obama threw me under the bus, he threw me under the bus literally!” Maybe you are radioactive literally also, Reverend, did you ever think about that. Hey, I don’t even want to be around him. I don’t blame Obama for not wanting to hang around Jeremiah. I have heard that there might have been a CIA plot to not only plant AIDs in the Black community but also to make Jeremiah Wright glow in the dark. It’s so hard to see him in the dark, and I would definitely like to see him coming. It all just makes too much sense.
The study of the principles of reasoning, especially of the structure of propositions as distinguished from their content and of method and validity in deductive reasoning.
