Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other. — Ronald Reagan

Illegal Imigration

Published by Jason M at 1:53 am under Politics

I believe that our federal legislative bodies are becoming completely disconnected with the American people. This latest piece of legislation is proof of that. What are we as the electorate supposed to do? What party should we vote for? Both the Republicans and Democrats are in the tank on this one. I am at the point where I would be entirely comfortable with firing every last one of them and starting over. I am in huge favor of term limits. Let’s get rid of these career politicians that are in it for themselves and not the American people. What else could explain this idiocy? It appears like all the politicians agree that there is a problem with illegal immigration, but it seems like very few of them come to the logical, common sense conclusion that any 6th grader would come to, ENFORCE THE LAW and secure the border. After securing the border we can then decide what to do with the illegal’s already here.  How is it that in this new era of terrorism that our politicians, those that have taken an oath to protect and defend, won’t secure our borders. It boggles the mind? This legislation is completely gutless and spineless. They don’t want the political lash back of deporting or stopping the influx, so the solution to them is to sweep everything under the rug and just make them all legal. Then we will start all over again. In ten more years we will have another 20 million that we will have to legalize. I say, lets show them political lash back. The simple solution is to secure the border first. Second, create a system to verify the legality of immigrants to employers. Third, fine employers that hire illegals. Forth, give all the current illegal’s 1 year to return to their country of origin, if any are caught after the 1 year of grace they are to be deported and denied any chance of future legal immigration. Fifth, if a illegal returns to their country of origin within the year of grace place them at the top of the list to return legally. Sixth, put in place a process of legal immigration that can supply this country’s need of workers (skilled and unskilled). Many liberals looking at this list of recommendations would call me a bigot and a racist. I am far from either.  I am a supporter of the rule of law. Does that make me a bigot? I completely support legal immigration. Immigration is what has made this country great. People from hundreds of different cultures have legally migrated to this country, assimilated themselves into the American culture,  have become productive members of our society, and have adopted the values that have made the United States of America the land of opportunity. Ask any recent legal immigrant if they are supporters of this legislation. They will all tell you absolutely not. The reason is, it has taken them years to legally come to this country and to work toward their citizenship. No one likes to see something that they have worked hard for given to someone else that hasn’t worked for it. No matter what your Senator or Congressman tells you say “NO TO AMNESTY”.
