Have We Become Elephants?

I was watching a TV program this evening and the speaker was talking about elephants and it got me thinking how much we as Americans have lived up to the Republican party elephant logo the past few years.
We have all seen circus elephants easily controlled by trainers and tethered to the ground by a little wood stake drove into the ground. What makes this possible? And how is it that a creature as strong and magnificent as the elephant can be held back and controlled by a rope and a little stake?
You see the elephant trainer usually gets the elephant when it’s young. Then the trainer shackles young elephant with chain or a rope to deeply embedded stake or cement block. Young as he is, there’s no way he can break the chain or move the block. At first he will try to break free, of course. But then he realizes he can’t do it. Finally, the memory takes place in his brain and he accepts the limit how far he will be able to go. When the elephant gets as big as a full grown bull and has the strength to pull the stake or block, he can’t, even though he has only a small rope or chain around his foot attached to nothing more than a small wooden stake.
Sadly we as Americans have seen how the leftists and extremists in this country have slowly but surely limited our freedoms and rights; we saw them legalize abortion, and burn flags in the streets, we watched as they took prayer out of schools, we watched as terrorist prisoners who were trying to take the lives of Americans because we represent a way of life that flies in the face of their intolerant hate filled “religion”, were given more rights then we give our own citizens and school children many times, we have a President that in the name of “Change” has pushed through a failed stimulus bill that costs us aprox. $1 million a day in interest. And now he wants to push through a health care bill that would absolutely destroy the best (albeit flawed) health care system in the world.
The powerfully gigantic elephant also known as WE THE PEOPLE has limited its present abilities by the limitations of the past. Human beings are sometimes exactly the same as the elephant except for one thing; we can CHOOSE not to accept the so called “change” we see being forced down our throats. When will we realize that what is holding us back is not the “stake”, but it is the fact that we have given up. The time has come to rip out the stake and let our voice be heard, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Well said. The elephant has been shackled in recent years. We’ve become passive and non-responive to the issues of big government. Too many elephants have also been roaming to the donkeys side. They’ve forgot what it means to be an elephant. We continue to not teach our kids about capitalism and success. Jesus Christ continues to be ridiucled out of society. And we watch in despair as they flock. They learn from the mule how to be spiritualy, economically and socially stupid. This must change. I have hope. The elephant is smart. The donkey on the other hand is, as and will forever be a jack-ass. They will never get it. EVER! The elephant must stay strong through all the ups and downs and stand up for what our founding fathers created and intended for us. Not what Karl Marx didn’t do for us.
