The Island of Logic

Watch this video and decide for yourself. Whenever a Government is in charge of a program for the “greater good” of society i.e. Health Care, they imperatively must make decisions on the basis of where must these dollars be spent so that they benefit the public as a whole and not the individual. Despite the government’s naive spending practices, there is not an infinite amount of money lying around. Whenever a populace is viewed as a collective this is what happens. When the individual is no longer in charge of their own well being their existence becomes viewed as a benefit or a detriment to the collective. That is why we as Conservatives put so much stock into the rights and freedoms of the individual. Come on folks this isn’t Theoretical Physics.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

It is almost eerie how Ronald Reagan in 1961 was talking about Socialized Medicine, and how we are facing the same threat today. The Socialist threat never dies. Tyranny will never be defeated. It is the natural tendency of any government to gravitate towards tyranny and it most be defeated daily.

I haven’t posted anything in quite some time, but I am getting a little tired of this Conservatism equals Nazi rhetoric again. I had posted a quite lengthy article on this topic back on July 19, 2008, so I have decided to post the link to that article. Extreme right wing or conservatism is anarchy not greater government control and involvement. Nazi in German actually means National Socialist.
