According to this story from the Wall Street Journal, Congress’s travel tab since the Democrat’s take over in 2006 has swelled 50%. At least we know now that their unsanctimonious cries about the auto executives flying corporate jets and taking exotic vacations wasn’t hypocritical.

In February, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi led a delegation of Democratic lawmakers to visit U.S. troops in Afghanistan for a day. Before landing in Kabul, the eight lawmakers and their entourage of spouses and aides spent eight days in Italy, spending $57,697 on hotels and meals.

I am more than a little peeved that the vacation that I have always wanted to take myself to Italy was taken by Nancy Pelosi with my money.
